Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with Sound Recording.
Set up and break down microphones, booms, audio interfaces, and recorders.
Monitor audio levels during filming or live sessions.
Help record voice-overs, foley, or ADR sessions.
Equipment Setup & Maintenance
Unpack, test, and maintain audio gear.
Ensure all equipment is charged, clean, and properly stored.
Track and log inventory.
Post-Production Audio Support.
Assist in editing dialogue, foley, and ambient sound.
Organize and label audio files for the editor or sound designer.
Participate in basic sound mixing or syncing audio to visuals (with supervision).
Location Sound Scouting
Help test and report on potential sound issues at shooting locations.
Record reference sound or ambient tracks for use in post.
Project & Session Organization.
Maintain clear, consistent naming conventions for files.
Back up audio projects and update logs or project sheets.
Learning & Development.
Observe senior sound staff and ask questions.
Attend training sessions or shadow during professional work.
Keep notes or logs of tasks and learning experiences.
Punctuality & Preparedness.
Arrive on time with proper attire (closed-toe shoes, all-black for set, etc.).
Bring a notebook, headphones, and any required materials daily.
Communication & Teamwork.
Maintain professional communication with team members.
Ask for help or clarification rather than guessing on tasks.
Respect hierarchy and confidentiality.
